Tips to Solve the Hanging Problems in Android Smartphones

In today's world, everyone of us is using mobile phones, especially Touchscreen Phones & Tablets, which has taken over the whole market in a very short span of time and they are truly amazing & very much helpful for everyone of us in our daily life, not only for calling or messaging purposes but also for playing games, getting different applications from Apps Market, surfing Internet, keep in touch with our dear ones / friends in different social networks, using Net Banking from our phone itself and many more. So, day by day, it is becoming a part of our family or we can say that it has already become a part of our family, without which we cannot live as it has become a need for everyone of us. But when we see that our device is not responding as per our need & taking more time to open a file or any folder or even the message inbox as well as showing a black screen & force closes any application saying less memory available even if no other application is running in the background and also while calling it shows a black screen, we do not feel good. So, in this blog, keeping this hanging / freezing problem of touchscreen phones or tablets in mind, I like to share how I have solved it by myself and for that I have made three sections, i.e. Problems that I have faced, Causes & their Solutions and Ultimate Solution.

PROBLEMS FACED

I am using touchscreen phone from last 5 years, but from last year onwards, I was experiencing that my phone was not responding properly like before & the problems that I was facing in my phone are as follows :-

1) My phone used to hang or freeze a lot at anytime while using.

2) It was taking long time to open an application or a file / folder

3) Sometimes, while doing any office works on the internet from my mobile or while opening an application in my mobile, my phone used to re-start automatically by itself.

4) Many times I had noticed that my phone used to force close any application at anytime, saying less memory available, even if no other application was running in the background.

5) While calling, it used to take more than a minute to connect.

6) And sometimes it was making me irritated while attending a call as it used to show a black screen .

CAUSES & THEIR SOLUTIONS

The problems that I have faced while using my mobile, about which I have written above, can happen due to various reasons and before going directly to the Ultimate Solution, I want to mention some of the basic causes because of which this kind of problems can also happen and their solutions. So the causes are as follows :-

1) Nowadays, everyone of us use Internet from our phone / tablet & if we do not have Anti-Virus in it, then there is a chance of virus attack, which can slow down our device as well as can corrupt the software of our device. So, we always need a genuine Anti-Virus / Internet Security to protect our phone / tablet from all types of virus attacks, which is not only a good precautionary measure but also a basic solution to detect viruses & remove them from our device.

2) Sometimes when we keep lots of data / files inside our phone's internal memory & if our phone's internal memory becomes full then there is a chance to face this kind of hanging / freezing problem in our phone / tablet. So we need to find out whether clearing the phone's internal memory & transferring all the data / files into an external memory card can solve this hanging / freezing problem or not.

3) As we all know that if we do not close any application properly in touchscreen phones then the application stays active in the background & uses the memory of our phone / tablet and if more applications stay active in the background at the same time then it can be responsible for saying less memory available & can force close any further application from opening. So, in such situations, we need to check whether any active applications are there in the Task Manager or not & if we find any other application is running in the background then we need to close that application which may help us to solve the basic problem.

4) If we keep our "Mobile Data" option / Internet option always ON and on the other side if the Synchronize option is switched ON at the same time and also if we have applications which can synchronize automatically when network connectivity is there, then it can slow down our device & can also hang / freeze our phone / tablet at anytime. But this kind of problems usually happen when the RAM (Random-Access Memory) of a touchscreen phone / tablet is less and because of that there is a chance of hanging / freezing problem in every now & then and applications may take more time to open and sometimes our phone can show a black screen. So, depending on the RAM of our device, we need to use our phone / tablet accordingly, as we can also do multi-tasking in touchscreen phone / tablet if we have more RAM in it.

5) When the charge of the battery of our phone / tablet becomes low, then there is a possibility to face some kind of hanging / freezing problem in our phone / tablet as well as it may force close any application and can shut down our phone / tablet at that time. So, before going for the ultimate solution, we need to find out basic cause because of which this kind of problems can happen.

6) If we install applications from unknown sources or from untrusted sites, then there is a chance of malfunctioning and viruses may also come in to our phone / tablet. So, it is always advised to install applications only from the trusted zones like Play Store and not from any unknown sources.

7) There are few applications available in the apps market that requires high speed Internet connection to run properly, so if we have a slow Internet connection in our phone / tablet then there is a chance that the application may take more time to open & can show a black screen while loading & can even crash automatically which may reboot our phone / tablet by itself. So, depending on the speed of the internet of our phone / tablet, we need to judge our problems & have to take correct decisions.

ULTIMATE SOLUTION

So, at first, I thought it was a virus attack & so I had scanned my phone with the best Antivirus I know, but no virus was found. Then I started thinking how to solve this problem by myself and checked each & every possibilities that I know, because of which this kind of problems can happen in a mobile phone / tablet, about which I have written above, but nothing has helped me to solve the problem. And suddenly, while playing with my phone, I found an option in my phone itself & a plan came in my mind, which I had never tested before in my life. So, let's sort out the steps which I had followed & they are as follows :-

1) First of all, I had taken backup of all my data & all the phone numbers from my touchscreen phone in to my PC and also noted down the names of all the applications that I was having.

2) Then I clicked on Apps Icon in my phone.

3) From there, I went to Settings.

4) Then I clicked on Backup and Reset option, where I got an option called Factory Data Reset in Personal Data section.

5) When I clicked on Factory Data Reset, I found an option called Reset Device.

So when I clicked on Reset Device option, something magical had happened, i.e. the software of my phone got re-installed by itself & my phone became new as if I bought it just now & all my hanging / freezing problems had gone. Since, I had never seen & used that option before, so I was so happy after solving the problem that I felt like to share about it with everyone. After that, I had scanned all the data which I had taken as backup in my PC with my antivirus again and then transferred them all in to my touchscreen phone and also saved all the phone numbers. Then, using my mobile Internet, I have downloaded each & every applications from the Apps Market and also updated the pre-installed applications. So, from that time onwards, I am using my touchscreen phone like a new phone I have bought & it has already become six months & till now I have not faced any problem like before and this is how I have solved the hanging / freezing problem of my touchscreen phone by myself.
